# A family-run piano showroom in Harrogate

Keys & Co. was founded in 2018 by James and Catherine Whitmore. We believe choosing a piano should be a calm, considered pleasure, guided by genuine expertise.

Why We Do This

## Expertise first, the sale second

We started Keys & Co. because we felt buying a piano had become too commercial. Too many showrooms push the instrument with the best margin rather than the one that suits the player. We wanted to do it differently.

James is a qualified piano technician, so the person advising you is the same person who has assessed, regulated and tuned the instrument. Every piano we sell, new or pre-owned, is professionally prepared and tuned to concert pitch before it leaves us.

We are authorised dealers for Yamaha and Kawai, and we restore and curate vintage pianos from respected makers such as Steinbach, Kemble and Knight. We keep eight carefully chosen instruments on display, so every piano in the room has earned its place.

Most of all, our showroom is a relaxed place. Private viewing rooms, tea or coffee on arrival, and all the time you need. We would always rather you found the right piano than felt rushed into any piano.

Piano Technician & Co-Founder

James is a qualified piano technician with 20 years of experience and co-founder of Keys & Co. He personally assesses, regulates and tunes every instrument in the showroom before it reaches a customer’s home, and leads our tuning and maintenance service across North Yorkshire.

Customer Relations & Co-Founder

Catherine co-founded Keys & Co. in 2018 and looks after customer relations and showroom operations. She makes sure every visitor to the Montpellier Parade showroom feels welcome, unhurried and well looked after, from the first enquiry to delivery day.
