Our Story

A piano showroom built on craft, not the hard sell

Keys & Co. was founded in 2018 by James and Catherine Whitmore. James is a qualified piano technician with 20 years of experience. Catherine looks after customer relations and makes sure every visitor feels genuinely welcome.

We keep eight carefully chosen pianos on display at any time, each one assessed and prepared by hand. Our showroom on Montpellier Parade is quiet and unhurried, with private viewing rooms where you can take your time and play properly.

We are not a big-box dealer. We are a small local business that would rather find you the right piano than rush you into any piano.

Where is the Keys & Co. showroom?

Keys & Co. is at 14 Montpellier Parade, Harrogate HG1 2TQ, with parking available nearby. We are open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sundays by appointment.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No, walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. We do recommend booking if you would like dedicated time in a private viewing room, and we will have tea or coffee waiting for you.

How much do your pianos cost?

New upright pianos range from £2,500 to £12,000 and new grands from £8,000 to £45,000. Pre-owned and restored pianos start at around £800 and go up to about £6,000.

Do you deliver, and is there a charge?

Delivery is free within 30 miles of our Harrogate showroom, covering York, Ripon, Knaresborough, Wetherby and the surrounding area. We delivered a restored Kemble to Ripon Grammar School, and your piano is placed, settled and checked on arrival.

What warranty comes with a new piano?

Every new piano carries a 5-year warranty. Each instrument is also professionally prepared and tuned to concert pitch in our workshop before it is delivered to you.
